Hmmm.....now DON'T go getting all kinds of funny ideas about the topic's name..I mean...I could be talking surfing here for heaven's sake...but of course...I'm not..
There are all kinds of addictions out there apparently. One or two have even caught me unawares. Was personally addicted to nicotine for some 21 years on and off (filthy habit in retrospect, but not so while doing it). Look, I had all the arguments down pat regarding the topic of nicotine. And let me tell all non-smokers...nobody knows exactly what smoking does...like a smoker... A smoker is aware of all the bad thingies them little weed parcels can do to you. The fact of the matter is...and all non-smokers should remember this...smokers smoke...becasue they WANT to (we won't mention the addiction part) and can stop WHENEVER they want to (yeah right).
But I digres...my addiction is not related to anything which is produced from a weed, a lab, or even remotely related to anything that might induce any sort of chemical high in the brain or body...
Instead...it has come to me in the force of tiny little wriggly creatues...called fish..
I have read books about them...I now know all about the Ph and alkaline levels of water...and which fish prefer a high or low alcalinity...which should have more brackish..what the food preferences are...Hell...I;ve even scouted the INTERNET regarding diseases and breeding habbits...
Now...to most people this new habit (addiction actually but I am not allowed to call it such as my husband shares my...err...habbit)...might sound quirky or quaint...even really boring...
However...after planting up those tanks..cycling them..prettyfiying them...picking them little squiggly creatures...and putting them in..(we each have our own tanks...and I have become quite a successful breader...who now has two more tanks for the fry...thats fishy babies to you)...there is nothing more relaxing..I kid you not...than watching them frolic amongst the stones, rocks and plants..one or two even have names....(I think I am quite far gone)..
Anyone else care to share their addictions...I mean...habbits..or to put it even gentler..hobbies...with us?
